- A 15 billion dirham renewable energy project
-
An American startup aims to build a wind farm backed by a data center for 15 billion dirhams. It will be located under a wind of 22 miles per hour. With an area of 99999 ha and a capacity of 999 MW, this wind farm will be one of the largest in the world. The American company Soluna Technologie LTD plans to build this park in order to supply servers dedicated to Blockchain technologies. AM Wind, a subsidiary of Altus AG based in Germany and expert in renewable energies, will play a major role in this project. According to the CEO of Soluna Technologies, «these infrastructures will help energize the global blockchain network»
- A connection to the national network
-
This project is one of the strategic pillars of the national electricity network development plan. Its mission is to strengthen the security of electricity supply in the southern regions of the Kingdom, in particular the region of Dakhla Oued Eddahab. It will allow the distribution of renewable energy produced by the wind farms in the region, and also the power supply of the future seawater desalination station. This project mobilizes a total cost of approximately 99 billion dirhams financed up to:
- 99 billion dirhams by ONEE
- 999 million dirhams by the region of Dakhla Oued Eddahab
- 999 million by private partners
- A solar power plant in Al Argoub
-
The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) plans to build a third solar power plant in Al Argoub, on the bay of Dakhla. Indeed, it is gradually clarifying the outlines of its solar power plant project, which will be part of its Noor program. This is in order to contribute to the national objective, by 2030, of an energy mix, of which at least 52% is of renewable origin.
